The world needs teachers and institutions that will put the future on the agenda. Present and future generations need to have knowledge, skills and practical experiences to cope with and take part in creating changes, which can only be taken on as a collective. They need to learn and practice how to create a rich and productive life, in peace and with cooperation across the board of political, social and cultural differences.
In order to be able to live up to this as a teacher, the teacher training must prepare the teacher for that - practically and theoretically.
As is the nature of “schools” around the world, the vast majority of the curriculum is teaching about the past - a past that is too often not linked to the ability to act in the present and future. Many will nod their heads in recognition of having received an education, and then when they stand in reality; it turns out to have been inadequate in so many ways.
The 3-year BA education in pedagogy prepares you to be a teacher. That is what we focus on, but through the education you will be so broadly founded, that you qualify for many other kinds of jobs. Throughout the education, we use the world as a class room and the people as our teachers. You will experience and realize the global and national realities and the reality of the school. Together we place the phenomena that are part of human life on the agenda. You will practice how to act individually and collectively.
