Through the duration of the program, the consumption of alcohol and drugs is prohibited regardless of your age. This policy applies when you are at IICD, traveling, volunteering at a project in the US, and working at your project abroad.
You need to be serious if you commit to the program as it is demanding and requires your full attention.

Alcohol, is it a universal culture that we should follow?
Keep healthy and awakened Drinking alcohol at the project can cause problems to your health and safety. Drinking also effects productivity and efficiency of any work. If you drink alcohol you loose coordination and focus. Scientific studies also show that when you drink you; lose vitamin C, cause imbalance to blood sugar, and can feel depressed or drained of energy the following day. You need to make a special effort to stay healthy, energetic, and enthusiastic.
No matter what country we look at, no matter how rich they are, we cannot deny the fact that alcohol is a beloved beverage of most people all over the world. Every year, more money is spent promoting the use of alcohol than any other product. At the same time, perhaps through its elaborate and creative marketing, the most basic yet important fact about alcohol is often overlooked — alcohol is a drug — the most commonly used and widely abused psychoactive drug in the world.
